The T1 is the single most popular way that
businesses communicate in the 21st century. T1s provide businesses with the most dedicated, reliable delivery of voice and data solutions in the marketplace.
A single T1 delivers 1.54 Mbps of bandwidth for internet service, and up to 24 phone lines for
voice service.
A T1 can be used for data only which will deliver the full 1.54 Mbps
via internet access. Or, it can be used for voice only, so that
all 24 lines will be dedicated to incoming and outgoing phones calls. |

The Integrated T1
However, the most popular T1s will give you T1 access to a combination of voice and data. These types of
T1s are called Integrated T1s. They can range from 3-24 lines and can provide your company
with all the features you have come to expect from your telecom provider. Some of these features include hunting/rollover, caller ID, email boxes, static IPs and free long distance.

T1s are always on and you have the flexibility to change your mix of voice and data at your discretion. Unlike
small
business DSL and
cable modems, you are not sharing your bandwidth with other companies in your service
area, so you will always get the bandwidth you were contracted for. In addition, the service level agreements on
T1s are much better that with DSL or cable. So if there are technical issues with your
T1, you'll be back up and running within hours, not days. If your business relies heavily on
reliable internet or phones lines, the
T1 from iTelNet is simply the best way to go.
There are two types of Integrated T1s: dynamically allocated and
channelized. Dynamic and channelized T1s have the ability to use voice and data on the same integrated T1. Voice always takes precedent
and is allocated first on the T1. On a dynamic T1 you will always have 1.54 Mbps of Internet as long as no individual is using a business line for a phone call. When a call is made it will take away from the bandwidth of the T1. In most cases, it is between 40-80 Kbps. On a channelized T1 the amount of lines and bandwidth that
are allocated is decided before the T1 is installed. This will not change
,and the internet bandwidth will always be less than 1.54 Mbps. |

Variations of T1s
T1s can be delivered a number of different ways, primarily dependant on the phone equipment on the other end. The most popular ways T1s are delivered
via analog, digital, PRI and SIP. These should not be confused with
mobile internet
products, though you of course can set up business
WiFi with your T1.
Analog T1s take an audio or video signal (in most cases, the human voice) and
translate it into electronic pulses for their T1 service. Digital T1s break the signal into a binary format where the audio or video data is represented by a series of
1s and 0s. Depending on your expandable
phone system, your business will need to make the choice that best fits your phone equipment needs.

|
T1s delivered via PRI are configured with 23 bi-directional B (Bearer) channels and one D (Data) channel enabling a total transmission speed of up to 1.55Mbps. PRI is unique in its ability to designate the D channel to handle all of the signaling and call control requirements and leave the remaining 23 B channels free for voice, data, or a combination of voice and data on the PRI T1. Unlike analog T1s, the PRI offers full caller ID delivery from the calling party. PRI is very feature rich and is used on most high quality, large business phone systems. |
SIP Trunking T1s
For customers with a desire to use the latest technology with their VOIP System,
the choice might be to go with a T1 with SIP Trunking for their
T1 phone service. SIP stands for Session Initiation Protocol. SIP T1s are designed specifically for IP based phone systems and offered by many ITSP (Internet Telephony Service Providers).
iTelNet represents all the top T1 and ITSP service providers and will make sure your business get the best pricing available on all these services. We will then deliver a phone or VOIP system that best fit your companys needs.
